Privacy
This is a short page because this is a site that collects almost nothing. That is a design decision, not an oversight.
What this website collects
A count, and nothing that identifies you. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they read, roughly which country they are in, and which site sent them. It sets no cookies and builds no profile — there is no identifier that follows you between visits, so we cannot tell a returning reader from a new one, and we cannot tell who you are.
It works by loading one small script from Cloudflare. If you block it, the site works exactly the same and we simply do not count you.
There is no advertising, no tracking pixel, and nothing is shared with or sold to anybody. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs for security and abuse prevention, as every host does.
If you use the chat window
The chat window is provided by Tawk.to, a separate company with its own privacy policy. Every page loads a small script from their servers and they set cookies in your browser, so that a conversation survives you moving from one page to the next. That happens whether or not you open the window.
If you write to us there, Tawk.to holds the message and we read it in their dashboard. Never put a password or card details in it — not there, and not anywhere else.
It is answered by a person from 8am to 8pm Eastern Time. Outside those hours the window takes your message and an email address, and we reply by email.
If you write to us
We will have your email address and whatever you choose to put in your message, held in our mailbox so we can answer you and keep a record of what was asked.
If you send the first twenty lines of your MetaTrader Experts tab — which is what we ask for when something is wrong — that contains your account number, your broker and what the software did. It does not contain your password, and you should never send one.
We do not sell, rent or share any of it, and we do not put anyone on a mailing list for writing to us.
If you buy a licence
We hold your name, email address and MetaTrader account number, because a key is issued against that number and cannot be issued or reissued without it.
We do not see your card details. Payment is handled by the payment provider, who is a separate company with its own privacy policy, and the card never reaches us.
What the software sends
ETA-CODE does not send us anything about your trading. There is an optional daily status note, which is off unless you switch it on, and it carries your account number, your key, the build, your broker's name, which term you hold and when it expires, how many positions have opened, and how long it has been running.
It carries nothing about prices, balance, profit or any individual trade, and it cannot stop you trading — it is a note, not a switch. Leave the box empty and nothing is sent at all.
Your rights
Ask us what we hold about you and we will tell you. Ask us to correct it or delete it and we will, except where we must keep a record of a sale for tax or accounting purposes.
Write to support@eta-code.com for any of this.
When this page will change
It will need rewriting the day a live chat widget or an embedded video is added to this site, because both load code from another company's servers and both can set cookies. If you are reading this and the site has either, the page is out of date and we want to know.
